The statement by that ______ man, saying he cannot stare long at his wife on a Sunday, could mean a few things such as:

a) The wife is not at home on Sundays. Now this could be a boon for a man super busy with things other than his spouse. Or he may just not know that  she is or isn’t home because… that’s right, he didn’t have any time in the first place.

b) His mother-in-law lives with them (meaning with her daughter) and on Sundays when he wants to stare at his wife he finds it difficult with M-I-L sitting right next to her.

c) He doesn’t have a wife. That’s kind of raising the price of onions and then saying that you don’t eat them anyway. Or he won’t have one after she reads what he said.

Go ahead, take a shot at it - what would your reason be !
