(Part 2 of 3)

The Valley of Flowers is a wondrous place

all meadows of flowers in tight embrace

A place that the Gods must have descended

Probably the last place before it all ended

this was the ideal of peace on earth

Make us all flowers here in rebirth

The holiest shrine

nestled high up in the clouds as if by design

Does not show itself till the very end

Where a huge Nihang his hand does extend

through the clouds that clear but for a fleeting moment

Giving a glimpse of a heaven went

hemkund

All weariness disappears, the mind clears

as we jump in the kund like cavaliers

Then hungrily devour the kichdi offered

Even as we say the holy word

I reflect, the mahabharat has a story here too

Laxman praying to the mountain so blue

The Brahma Kamal

more beautiful than Chanel

And the blue poppy in abundance

Climb this high and serve penance

so its worth my effort, tears and sweat

I wish i could fill my basket

Coming down from those great heights

stepping over glaciers in whites

Sharing a good word

With a friendly surd

as we chant wahe guru

Wahe guru wahe guru

glacier-enroute-hemkund-melts

.... continued in Part 3 of 3 titled "Meditation for the Soul"
