(Part 1 of 3)
Trekking through the Himalayas
in search of myself and Sage Vyas
Its not just for the pious who walk it
Some with veneration, devotion
reverence, obeisance
So how do they all commit
---
Whereas me
of nature and mountains an adoree
Just going with the flow
Of the mighty rivers
that give one the shivers
Even as they offer themselves to thee
Govind ghat is one of many holy starts
made ugly with pony dung and other warts
What is it that makes us so blind
To the utopia that could be
if we only took responsibility
Even as pilgrims prepare for the grind
----
The walk to Ghangaria is filled with much beauty
that it goes beyond one's duty
To introspect to pray to be absolved of ones sins
Rather think of it as where collective thought begins
on how do we protect these gifts of Gaia
Even as they selflessly give themselves till they are Maya
Our camp is nestled in a valley amongst higher hills
so most of the year its in snow that chills
Preparing mentally for the treks ahead
While sipping on chai and bread
I think, what is it that makes me want to do this
De-stress and get away from that abyss?
