The origin of April Fool's Day is obscure according to Wikipedia. This morning I discovered that the world had changed. The newspapers were full of good and happy news. No terrorist attacks reported anywhere in the world, in fact it was reported in one that it was an entirely crime free day world over. Amazed I read on and found even more good news. Seemingly a number of television stations in some kind of a joint cartel-like decision had declared that they were closing down and instead going to focus on real issues concerning people. The one that really touched me was that picture of the leader of the government and his main opponent sharing a bear hug while making a joint statement that irrespective of who won the ensuing elections, they would work to the improvement of society, and that they would personally instruct their representatives to be completely honest and hardworking. As I turned the pages to the sports section it blew me away. The IPL had decided to return to India for the season, Sania had decided to quit tennis and join Bollywood, Mahesh / Leander were going to play Wimbledon together again. As I got dressed to go to work I realized the only thing that was true is that I had to go to work today. Obscure or not, on April Fool's Day, whats the harm in a bit of wishful thinking. Have a good one.
